Hiphop/rap terms, phrases and concepts that Kpop fans should understand before they use them (with lots of examples)

Warning: This post got really long, idk if anyone is actually gonna read it but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ at this point it just became something fun for me to work on!
I very often see rap/hiphop terms misused/misunderstood within the Kpop community. I think it's totally understandable since most fans are youngecame to kpop first, alternatively a lot of folks might not even be native english speakers and so these terms might be confusing or vague in their meaning. But the misuse can lead to some miscommunication. I thought I'd make a post to clear up some of these terms/concepts so hopefully folks who want to can understand a bit better.

A disclaimer: i'm not in any way a hiphop scholar (which is a very real, very legit thing) I'm just a fan of the genre and it's many offshoots, and i've tried to familiarize myself with as much of the terminology as possible. If you're interested in learning more one place i think is a good place to start would be Hiphopdx's long running series "The Breakdown" it's had 3 hosts over the years the first being Justin Hunte who also has a really good youtube channel, but here's one episode from the main channel called "Real vs Fake Hiphop" if you wanted to check it out. I don't agree with everything they've talked about in various episodes but it always provides a fresh perspective and is a great history primer for anyone wanting to get more into the genre. Another great starter video is this one from VOX, which is pretty famous already and gives a good quick primer on some of the ways hiphop has evolved in complexity, and gives good visuals for understanding what some of the more technical music terms are around rapping.
(Also, this will partially be me fanning over some of my fave rappers in the kpop-sphere. I'm not really under any impression that most of these folks are all-time greats in a wider context (though I think that a handful could at least hold their own but they're definitely idols whose skills deserve to be highlighted, I don't hit on all my favorites in this post but I tried my best to include a wide range of artists as my examples))

Hiphop vs Rapping + the history of Korean HipHop:

I have, on occasion, seen these two used interchangeably but i want to try and make clear the difference.
Hiphop is, yes, a genre of music that often includes rapping, but it is also quite a lot more than that. Hiphop was originally a movement started in New York in the 80s through live DJ'd block parties in predominately Black and Latinx neighborhoods. It originally had four main components: Graffiti, B-Boying/Girling, DJing/Turntabling, and MCing. Hiphop style/fashion grew out of this tim,e when neighborhood kids would show up to events dressed up in the latest styles, there were often dance competitions and music was played over speakers with physical records being scratched and mixed in real time. Overtime the MC transformed into what we now recognize as a rapper, and as the music became more popular and rappers became the face of the hiphop genre. In older Hiphop groups it was common to have a DJ/MixeScratcher as one of the members, but as digital technology got better and the rappers themselves became the main focus DJs became less common (although to this day there are still groups that utilize them)
Nowadays Hiphop is used to encompass a diverse and growing area of culture. It includes not only the dozens of sub-genres of the music itself which have gone on to include a wide variety of influences from RnB, Jazz, Soul, Rock, Metal, Electronic, Indie etc, but also the fashion, products, and performance associated with the genre.
Rapping is just one facet that came out of hiphop. It encompasses a particular style of rhythm driven vocal performance, usually to a beat, usually focusing on spoken/straight delivered rather than sung words (although incorporation of a melodic line or speak-sing style has grown in popularity since the 80s).
Korean hiphop culture sprang out of late 90s early 2000s internet forums. It began being most active in Hongdae as an underground scene and first became popularized in the Korean music market through Seo Talji and the Boys and later artists like Drunken Tiger, Yoon Mirae, and Epik High would make hiphop commercially successful in Korea. As kpop became a bigger force in the Korean music market, kpop groups like Big Bang made hiphop part of their signature style while having a rapper and producer as their frontman. In the 2010s, TV shows like Show me the Money, High School Rapper and Unpretty Rapstar made hiphop a bigger cultural touchstone within the country. Now in 2020 many boygroups and even some girlgroups, take heavy inspiration from hiphop and its subgenres as a central part of their sound, and idol rappers are more centered as part of the kpop genre than ever before. Khiphop as its own genre has also grown with a ton of new acts debuting every year, and even some crossover success outside Korea.

Different Genres of Hiphop:

The kinds of hiphop and genres of inspiration are as diverse as music itself, but here are a few that appear in Kpop with an example of each. Because Kpop is so prone to take broad inspiration from many styles, a lot of these songs are not /purely/ these genres but rather a fusion of these and other styles. I linked to timestamps that exhibit the sound i'm talking about, here's a video that lays out 27 Rap Styles of different genres. Here are a few that are particularly relevant to 2020 kpop:
Some other hiphop genres that influence kpop are: Gfunk, Grime, Latin Trap, Reggaton, Concious, Chopper, Acid, Underground, Hardcore, Stardust, and Pop-rap.

Rap terms you might hear used and their definitions:

GOAT: Greatest Of All Time. The most eternal debate of rap music.
Flow: It's complicated, and maybe one of the words i see misused or overused the most often! In it's most basic terms flow refers to the relationship between the rappers rhythmic delivery and the beat of the song, however it also takes into account stressed and unstressed syllables, rhyme scheme, and even aspects like volume, ferocity or ease of delivery, drag/drawl, word emphasis, breath placement, relationship to the bar line, and other stylistic decisions such as adlibs. A flow, as best i can sum it up, is an established and continuous pattern of rap delivery across multiple lines
Flow-switching: When a rapper changes up their flow mid-verse. So if a rapper has two distinctive flows in a song but they are separated by singing or the chorus this is not usually called a flow switch. Flow-switching happens when the rapping is continuous (though it can be assisted by changes in the instrumental or sometimes a short pause between). Additionally just changing the rhythm is not enough to constitute a flow switch, because a flow is an established pattern, just throwing in one spicy triplet or quadruplet before returning to the same pattern as before is not a flow-switch. Usually This video shows a few examples in the American rap scene. Like flow, there is no such thing as "good" or "bad" flow switches.
Flow-jacking: When one rapper steals another rappers style w/o credit. Not the same as an artist referencing or taking inspiration.
Bars: Bar and measure are interchangeable as terms but in a rap context you're more likely to hear "bar" used. A rap break in kpop will usually allow for maximum 4-8 bars (sometimes as low as 2 per person) depending on how much time the group devotes to rapping. In a standard rap song a verse is usually about 16 bars (but ranging up to 32 in some cases) with an entire song usually having 2-4 verses. "Bars" as a slang term is also used when someone raps something particularly pointed or bodacious, or when the verses just hit hard.
Cypher: A cypher was traditionally used to mean a circle of rappers taking turns rapping on a beat one after the other.
Adlibs: Usually a word or phrase yelled behind the main rap, sometimes parroting a word they've already said in verse, sometimes a supplementary phrase. If you've ever heard a rapper yell "skrrrt" that's an adlib.
RappeProducer Tag: A word or phrase usually at the beginning of a song or verse to mark which rapper or producer worked on it, sometimes it's just the producerappers name or derivative thereof, but sometimes it is less specific.
"Riding the Beat": A complimentary term used to describe a rapper who is fully immersed in the beat of the song they're performing. There is a similar term in dance, it basically comes down to whether an artist is responding to a beat or truly feeling the beat. There's no hard and fast rule as to when this is true, but when a great performer really pulls it off you can feel it.
In the pocket/Out of pocket: As a slang term 'speaking "out of pocket"' means basically speaking out of turn or when your opinion isn't wanted. But in a rap context "the pocket" is another way to refer to the beat. So being in the pocket means you're on beat while rapping out of pocket means rapping off beat. This can occasionally be used for a stylistic effect, especially in the drill subgenre, with an MC intentionally trailing or racing the beat but still keeping a sense of rhythm, sometimes this achieves a racing or slurring effect if that's what the song calls for. It's a difficult thing to pull off convincingly
Speak-sing/Melodic rapping: A style partially popularized by Drake in the 2000/2010s (it's obviously been around longer than that but he definitely turned it into one of the most popular styles) it is exactly what it sounds like. Any rapping will have some kind of melody associated with it but a speak-sing style will include a lot more melodic motion than a straightforward delivery but more adherence to a rhythm than a pure singing delivery.
Freestyle: is exactly what it sounds like. True freestyles are pretty rare because they're really really hard to do the skills it requires are a lot different from writing, producing, and performing normally are so even a really great rapper can be shit at freestyle. Conversely a great freestyler might not be able to fill out a full recorded track as well. The skills share some commonalities but they should not be conflated.
Underground: "the underground" is a rather ambiguously and lightly used term to describe unsigned or independently signed rappers in a non-commercial sphere. Usually this is associated with mixtape culture or live performances as well as rap crews/families that perform and release songs together. Sometimes underground tracks will be released through less official platforms like soundcloud and every once in a while an MV but they're usually low budget.
Mixtape: A less formal form of release as opposed to an album or EP. Songs on a rap mixtape can be of wildly different genres, and because of the non-commercial aspect of them, they often use beats by other artists for some or all of their songs (within the community this is seen as common practice and not stealing as long as you aren't then profiting from it, and this is also different from sampling where only bits of a beat or instrumental are used)

Other notes on rapping technicals:

Rapping skill is not just about saying words fast, or saying them loud, or saying them through tears. The work of a rapper is to convey story, emotion, and vibe through their delivery and there's a lot of aspects to it that can often go unnoticed that I wanted to highlight here.

Finally: How to judge 'good' vs 'bad' rapping/the limits of criticism

The copout answer is to say "there's no such thing it's just what you like" BUT i think that downplays all of the real skills that a rapper can show and how those can be judged critically. However "good vs bad" is still a bad paradigm to work under because it's probably a little too subjective,
Here are perhaps some better questions to ask when judging a single verse or feature:
If it's a solo song here are some potential questions:
These are the sorts of questions I use to try and judge a song. It's also important to know that a rapper probably won't show all of these skills in any one song or verse. Some songs are more emotion focused, some might be more vibe focused, some might be braggadocious and show off technical skills while having more basic lyrics. As long as the rapper proves they are capable at all these things when they do them there's no issue with having certain songs fulfill certain needs. There is, however, obviously a great amount of skill that comes with being able to combine all of these elements and still make a song sound good, artists that are able to balance all of these elements, especially across multiple solo joints or a whole album/mixtape, are considered the best of the best.
Some Limits to criticism in a kpop context:

That's all, this was so stupidly long so hats off to anyone who read or even just scanned the whole thing. To end this i'm just gonna list some of my pipe dream Kpop x Western rap collabs.
Soyeon x Tierra Whack/Vince Staples | RM x Milo/Tech N9ne | Suga x Young Thug | J-Hope x Megan Thee Stallion | Zico x Pusha T/Dababy | T.O.P x Snoop Dogg | Bang Yongguk x Lupe Fiasco/2 Chainz | Euna Kim x Aminé | Bibi x Anderson Paak

New brawler's ideas

Hi everyone . Yesterday I think a new trio that could be in brawl stars . They trio is called the music trio , every brawler in this trio has a passion in music of course . Also a new environment idea and skins ideas .
For the first brawler is a lover of rock music , he is names is Maximilian . ( The name I got from a character in a Mexican series , so he would be a Mexican )
His a descendant of Poco and nephew of el primo . ( from some reason I believe that Poco is the great-grandfather of el primo , thanks Karios for the addiction ) . He is 16 years old .
How he look , classic . Imagine a 16 years old white teenager that he dyed his hair black ( because he is depressed ) , wearing a white shirt that says ' I love rock ' , a jene , a pair of black shoes and a leather jacket . Also he has a electric guitar .
Stats
Health : 3680-4760 hp
Move speed : 820
Attack : rock wave ( I suck at naming things )
His attack range is similar to Bibi but is one time longer . He's attack is similar to Poco but it has a different attack effect . He strums his guitar three times that are sending three music waves , it's one does up to 332-468 damage .
Reload speed : 1.7 second
Attack speed : same with Poco
Super : heavy echo ( As I said a suck at naming )
He super is one tile longer than his attack . He send a heavy music wave it up to 2000-2800 damage . But it can't pass through or destroy projectiles like walls , fence , cactus etc. . Is a big disadvantage from his super because I didn't want to be op .
Charge per hit : 1 hit charge 6,66%
Gadget : rage
Is the same with Poco but instead of doing healing , it gives you and your teammates 10% damage boost Charges : two per match
First Star power : catastrophic echo
Now he's super can destroy projectiles
Second Star power : powerful
When he's below 30% health he's attack does 50 or 100 more damage
Rarity : rare
For this brawler I really wanted to make him unique and had a basic kit so he could be in rare rarity . He's attack can do more damage than Poco so maybe he can be great in showdown than Poco . His super is weak on maps that has a lot of projectiles if he doesn't have his star power .
For the second brawler is DJ called EJ ( EJ means echo DJ and his real name would be Pablo ? )
How he looks , just imagine Brock but he's a DJ dyed his hair purple and green and instead having a rocket launcher he has a flying table that has his equipment on it . Also she's wearing some random 2000' clothes .
He knows Frank and they work together . Also EJ is hiring Maximilian for making songs . He doesn't have other relationship with other brawler's .
Stats
Health : 4570-5690 hp
Move speed : 720
Attack : boomerang disc's
He throws two disc's like a boomerang . It's one does up to 242-367 damage per swing and he has two ammo bars . His range is 8,67 tiles length and two tiles wide .
Reload speed and attack speed : same with Carl
Super : music waves ( This is the greatest name idea that came out of my mind )
In a radius of 4,6 tiles he send around him a wave of music per 0.5 second that they go through projectiles and does up to 300-400 damage . It has duration of 5 seconds .
Charges per hit : it charge 12,5% per hit
Gadget : remix disc's
His next attack does 200 more damage . Charges per match three .
First Star power : harmony
His music waves now heals his teammates 200 hp per wave
Second Star power : slow down
Every enemy that get hit by a music wave he slow down 10% for one second
I don't have much to say about him but I think he would be good at bounty , siege , brawl ball and showdown . Also I can't choose what rarity he would be so please tell me in the comments .
For the last brawler is called Mara and she is the manager of EJ
How she looks , I didn't figure her look . So if you want , comment below how she would look like .
Stats
Health : 3120-3970 hp
Move speed : 820
Attack : ( I didn't get a name for her attack )
In her right hand she has a glove that she shoots three music waves . Imagine Piper shot effect but is purple . It has 7.67 tiles range and it does up to 460-590 damage .
Reload speed : 1.9 second
Attack speed : same with Jessie
Super : ( the same thing with the attack )
In a radius of 4 tiles her and her teammates will not get any effect is like Frank gadget but for everyone . It has 3 seconds duration and they get 20% less damage .
Charge per hit : it charge 16,66 per hit
Gadget : boop ( the gadget idea I got it from overwatch from a character called Lucio )
Her shoots another music wave that it does knock back ti enemies for one tile . Charges per match three .
First Star power : bass heal
Her super heals her and her teammates about 400 hp per 0.5 second
Second Star power : kick speed
When she charge her super her attack go 10% faster
I think her super can save her teammates from dangerous super like Frank , Emz , Bea ect , also gadgets and Star power's . I think she could be legendary .
Environment
The environment would be in 8-bit arcade . The projectiles would be a mix of retropolis and 8-bit arcade . The place it would be where they take music events ( mostly it would be like Japanese music ) . There EJ and Maximilian play their music . Around the place there would be fence for blocking fans going on stage , also there would be posts for other events . Little machines could be around that you can buy tickets for the events . ( And some other details )
Skins ideas ( I can't designed well and I don't have any skill at drawing so I can't make skins and brawler's design )
The first skin it isn't my idea but someone else but I can't remember his name Rock star Poco - costume brawler model - costume effect - costume texture Cost =80 gem's
Hip hop Rosa and sprout - costume brawler model - costume texture Cost = 30 gem's
Heavy metal Pam - costume brawler model and costume turret model
Cost =30 gem's
Disco Rico - costume brawler model - costume effect ( his bouncing ball will shine ) Cost = 30 gem's
Thanks for reading , I hope you liked it ( I hope you didn't get a stroke reading this , English isn't my first language ) . Don't get me seriously we know super cell will never add this to the game . Have a great day . Also if you want I can make another trio idea with the brawler's , a new environment and skin ideas . For example like Morden technology trio , retro trio , magic trio ect . ( Comment below what you want )

Luca993's Live review EP 11: μ’s Final LoveLive! ~µ'sic Forever♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪~

Hi, and welcome back to Luca993's Live Review. Today we are taking a look to μ’s Final LoveLive! ~µ'sic Forever♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪~

DISCLAIMER: Everything you will read is based ONLY on personal thoughts, I do not intend to belittle any person / live / song. I love Love Live and I will do everything in my power to get more people to love it. Everything you will read is written by me, so, I apologize in advance if there are grammar errors, I will try my best to use my B2 English as better as I can. If I will take some inspiration from the internet, I'll make sure to include the link to the webpage. That said, enjoy LLR

μ’s Final LoveLive! ~µ'sic Forever♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪~ took place in Tokyo Dome on the 31st of march and 1st of april 2016. It was officially known as the last concert of μ’s. For more info and set list go here

I will review extensively day 2 only. The set list are the same for both days and I think in this live, emotional as it gets, in day2 μ’s expressed their full potential and emotions. While trying not to get emotional too, let's start the review! (i'm not confident this time)

*- that mark means that Nanjolno is not taking part in the song. She had injured her knee, and she was wearing knee supports

What it feels to know that you're going to sing in the biggest Dome of Japan, the place that you dreamt, for six years. What it feels to know that from the empty booth at Comiket, your voice, dance and emotions spread through tens, hundreds, thousands, ten thousands, a hundred thousand people, maybe even more? And lastly, how it feels to know that you're going to sing in front of an audience so big, knowing that it will be your last time as μ’s. Your last time to shine. Your last time seeing the “sea of light”. This is what I thought in my first view of the final love live.

Day2:

Intro pv: The newborn alpaca is here! (the cheers are HUUUGE) Then the girls start talking to the audience, about the movie. Then the girls asks the audience where they are going to perform. At the answer Tokyo Dome they get surprised. Short videos of all the character of the movie encouraging the girls is shown Then the anime team recreated all the locations where all the real lives were hold. The final sentence “make our dreams come true”.

Bokura no live Kimi to no life: (As I already am in tears) Reading the lyrics now gives me melancholy. I remember the first live. During Honoka's solo, the emotion in her voice is audible.. The song is done like never before, an this will be valid for all the live. Singing the line “we'll be together forever” with the audience, I guess have a really strong impact on them.

Bokura wa ima no naka de: Ah, the first opening of the anime. The cheering is huge, and the song lyrics are touching in a moment like this. “we're all in this moment”. I'm at a loss. The performance is perfect.

MC:
Emitsun: “I didn't think there would come a day when I could stand on this stage”. Self introduction time. (the call and responses are great, I don't know again how the girls are keeping it together).
Introductions to note: Emitsun: “at our current stage, we can do anything. Any dream can be fulfilled. That's how I feel right now. I'm sure today will be the best day of my entire life so far”
Ucchi (her voice is not right. As she tries to talk, it becomes clearer that she's on the edge of tears. As she tries to do her c&r her voice is becoming lower and lower and she starts to break down. Emitsun comforts her with a pat on her back. The audience is cheering really loudly. When she finally gets to complete her sentence, the audience is even louder than before. I've looked up on the web, I think her condition is called dysphonia).
Nanjolno: “the rehearsals and stuff were done with just the nine of us, but our hearts were always eighteen! Let's have fun until the very end!”

Natsuiro egao*: Beautiful, the smiles captured by the camera are pretty. Finally a song that takes away a little bit of sadness. During the part where the audience sings, surely they are doing some loud noises.

Wonderful rush*: the Dome turns white, I guess this is a big encouragement for Ucchi who seems to have recovered some of her voice. Nice camera job on the “rapping”part. The Dome explodes on Pile's “wonderful”. The stage that goes over the audience is a nice touch, I love it!

Yuujou no change: Nanjolno arrives on a cart. What a “train” of wonderful songs. The girls are literally in the middle of the audience, and the camera captures all the cyalumes moving at the same time. It's impressive.

Moggyutto*: Sweet as always, the girls dressed like maids are pretty. I think the prettiest is Ucchi, funnily enough it seems to see the real Kotori dancing. She said it in the MC “I'll do my best to be as Minami Kotori.” For Honoka's solo, the Dome turns orange.

Baybe maybe koi no button*: Beautiful, as the girls are walking around in the stage and stopping in the center right one.

Music S.T.A.R.T.*: Another important one, “this is our never ending stage”. The cheers are incredible. (those happy song at least made me forget the sadness). The eight girls are shining, their smiles are the best. It feels really like a party.

MC*: They're happy to wear Moggyutto outfit, made just for this live. Emitsun says that there are so many songs from the anime they liked, but they couldn't do singularly. So they came up with a medley

Medley anime:
Yume no tobira*: fantastic, I love it. Wonderful lyrics. (blue lights everywhere)
Susume tomorrow (2nd years). The calls at the beginning are really strong. A song of hope for the future. Perfect
Wonder zone: Seems that Ucchi now has all of her voice back. “a future when I can become strong”, also this song is so fitting, I'm surprised.
Korekara no someday: Singed on the carts with chibi μ’s drawing appearing on the screen, good.
Love wing bell: Ah, Rippi, so beautiful. Since the BGM is quiet, the audience singing is clearly audible. Everything turns yellow (and green).

MC: On the center left stage, it feels huge but it feels so close with everyone.

Dancing stars on me*: As the beat drops, everybody is dancing and screaming. It's way better than it was at the last live, and i'm happy to see the Dome in violet.

Happy maker*: Thinking about it, μ’s really are happy maker. They can light up a sad day. So I like this one.

WAO WAO powerful day! (Printemps): Good costumes, different for each girl. Ucchi's belly is exposed, weird enough for Love Live. The song is happy, the lyrics are on point for printemps.

MC (Printemps): introduction of PT, talking about their colors, explaining of the origin of the costume (love marginal). Emitsun remembers that the first event they did as Printemps was attended by 80 people.

No exit orion (Printemps): I played it so many times on SIFAS, I like it, and I think that Printemps is the right choice for this song. A song talking about constellations and space, singed by those three beautiful stars.

Sweet & sweet holiday (Printemps): Sweet, sweet sweet. Maybe my favourite song for this unit, their expression as they sing are sweet as the song. The audience is cheering loudly.

Omoide Ijou (Lily White): “weird” costumes, a dress with “bubbles” on top. The sound of their voices is improved by the classical microphone, their dancing is in sync. Good song

Futari Happiness (Lily White): oh, there we go. The flagship song is always a pleasure to her, especially with those delicate voices. As they climb on “bubble carts”, now their costumes makes sense. As they go through the audience, a lot of cheering is captured by the mic.

MC (Lily White): They call their costume “balloon costume”. Mimorin notices that the cherry blossom is what defines Japanese springs. They do a recreation of the cherry blossoms with the Cyalumes. The result is amazing.

Shunjou romantic (Lily White): referring to the flowers blossoming, a song about blossoming love and about a butterfly tying to spread her wings and fly (referring to love). It makes sense in my opinion, in a live like this. The sentence “once you fall in love, you have no choice but to try and fly” is beautiful. Congratulations on the dance.

Cutie Panther (BiBi): Here they are, the troublemakers, since the first beat, the atmosphere is totally changed. They are on the carts, and sometimes the audience responses covers their voices. Perfect song for BiBi.

Psychic fire (BiBi): (huge cheers) I think this song defines the best BiBi, the rhythm is catchy, the cheering is great, and the energy they are giving is amazing

MC (BiBi): As they're stuck in the elevator platform, they need BiBi power. As they do their calls the platform descends, and discuss about BiBi being a comic unit

Sakkaku Crossroads (BiBi): strangely quiet, quite off of BiBi usual style, but with those wonderful voices, they manage to do a great job.

Angelic Angel: A song from the movie, introduced by fireworks. The costumes are like the one from the anime, resembling a shorter version of a Yukata, pretty. The choreography is simple but effective, I like it.

MC: They discuss about their costumes and their hairstyle being traditional

Kaguya no shiro de odoritai*: Not one of my favourites, it's danced and singed perfectly (those costumes should be heavy, the girls are drenched in sweat)

Datte Datte aa mujou*: This time there's fire on the stage. In my opinion this song doesn't fit perfectly µ's. Though, again, it's well singed and danced

Hello, Hoshi o Kazoete (1st years): The costumes and the acting is almost musical style, I like it a lot. The alchemy between those three girls is something special.

? heartbeat (3rd years): Funny introduction with sunglasses like the movie, beautiful costumes. The song lyrics are about suddenly becoming celebrities, and I like to think that it's almost like the real story of µ's.

Future Style (2nd years): I love it! Starting from the costumes (school uniforms). “it's time for our greatest dream to take shape” what a perfect choice of lyrics.

Sore wa bokutachi no kiseki*: Welcome back on the feels train. Reading those lyrics now...just doesn't seem right. Surely the audience is noisy, screaming ad responding to the girls. “until the very end, we'll run through!” ”never forget, this moment is ours”

MC: They talk about the fan meeting an thanks the fans. And the song they sang at every fan meeting.

Mi wa µ'sic no mi: It sounds good, I wonder what they are thinking while singing this song...maybe the places where they've been, where they sang this song? I think it's an intense song for them.

Super love=Super live: Fun song, it feels like it's a party again. The calls are followed loudly by the audience. I love the part where all the girls are saying Super love Super live, the last part is amazing.

No brand girls*: AMAZING. There are no other words. Tokyo Dome's “oh yeah” are something extraordinary. They are also dancing. There is a shot that shows Tokyo Dome dancing with the girls, is almost moving.

Kira Kira sensation*: µ's story reassumed in a song, I suggest, if you don't know the lyrics, to go and check them out here. “Our dream is never anding” with the audience was powerful! Good song

MC: They teach the audience to dance Sunny day song.

Sunny day song: A song for all the School idols around the world singed in Tokyo Dome, I guess every Idol dream to sing and dance in the Dome. For Honoka's last solo the Dome is all orange. Beautiful song, and congrats to the audience following the girls. (huge cheers at the end)

ENCORE: (huge calls for the encore)

Start dash: Is so good. Just unbelievable. Perfect in every way. Nothing else to say.

Snow Halation: well, there we go. Unluckily the costume is not the one from SH, the audience is noisy. Still an unforgettable last performance. The dome is white. Their smiles are the best. The snow starts falling. As Honoka sings “todokete” the change is immediate. The Dome in orange is a sight of a kind. Beautiful (huge cheer at the end)

Oh, love and peace: After Snow Halation, which warms up our heart, another song to reassume school Idols and Love Live. Seeing this girls sing, really gives a sense of love and peace. And I love this song.

Donna Toki mo zutto: The audience is singing loudly, as the girls lower their voices, it's clearly audible through the mic. Nice that Rippi has the maracas. Ucchi is the first to tear up. That's the most heartfelt song so far, the girl's voices seems to include lots and lots of feelings.

Last MC: (Emi starts crying as soon as the song finishes)

Yurika: “these six years, with these members, and with all of you that cheered for us, to be able to come here together, I'm extremely happy. Thank you all so much”
Soramaru: “Will you all come listen to µ's song again sometimes? (cheers) Promise me this! Thank you very much! (cheers)
Rippi: “let me say one thing beforehand: Rin, where you watching? I did it! Thank you so much! (tries to hold back the tears) And, all the members really, really, thank you. And the staff, as well, thank you. I love this project known as Love Live! And thanks to that, being able to see everyone, I feel really proud. Forever, no matter when (Donna toki mo zutto) I want to keep shining with everyone!” (as she waves goodbye she looks up to the sky)
Kussun: “Everybody, do you love Love Live? (cheers) Do you love µ's? (cheers) Do you like Nozomi? (cheers) Will you continue to love them until the end of time? (Cheers). Thank you. I love you all (Cheers)”
Pile: I went around the dome with the intention of tightly holding each of your smiles. Did you all feel it? (cheers) To those who brought us to such a wonderful stage, the fans who supports us, and the members, as well as Maki-chan, I want to express my gratitude. Can I ask one more thing? When I say µ's, please respond with Aishiteru banzai!” ( the audience does a very loud response, Rippi in the background is wiping her tears)
Nanjolno: “You're shredding all kinds of sweat. But please don't cry. Our first encounter might have been an illustration on a piece of paper, In these six years, the result of everyone cheering for us with all your hearts, and continuing to love us, was that the nine girls we met were given the life to live in the same time as us. Even if today passes, I'm sure the nine of them are living on cheerfully somewhere, that's how I feel. Which is why all of us, with what we received in the last six years, what we received from them, joy, courage, and all sorts of power, let's live on cheerfully! Thank you! That was Ayase Eli and Nanjou Yoshino! (Huge cheers, also Kussun and Soramaru are in tears now)
Mimorin: “thank you so much for the greatest time today! Fun memories were made today that I can never forget. (she's close to crying, first time seeing Mimo like that) Having met everyone in µ's and having met the fans who ran along with us, and of course, having met Sonoda Umi,i am so happy!(tears starts to drop) Life is truly amazing! Thank you so much!
Ucchi: (already sobbing) “I prepared for today not to appear as Minami Kotori, but to rather be Minami Kotori herself. Yesterday and today, these two days. This is actually something personal, but when I woke up, I had lost my voice. And I was really anxious whether it would be okay. Even during the opening introductions (Huge cheers) I had no idea what to do and I showed an embarrassing side of myself. But thanks to everyone's warming cheers, and the members were really encouraging, and played along. Despite my shortcomings, thanks to having met a franchise like Love Live, I was able to grow, and it was able to have a really, really dream-like time during these six years. I thought Love Live was a strange franchise at first, but I think we could do things today that could not be possible if it were no Love Live. A Love Live that will live on in everyone's hearts forever, is what I feel it has become today. From today on, please lock the nine of us, as well as the nine members, as treasures in your hearts!” (huge cheers)
Emitsun: Yesterday and today, here in Tokyo Dome, having performed our live, I really do think it is amazing, but strangely, I didn't feel very scared. That was because it was the nine of us, and because the nine of them were there as well. And not to mention, because everyone who loves Love Live was there as well! (starts sobbing) µ's is a group of girls who gave their all trying to shine in the limited time they had. We also followed in their footsteps, and walked this far until today, but from this moment forth, it might change in form a little bit. But this shining will continue on forever. So long as everyone continues to love µ's and Love Live, forever and ever, we might not be able to meet like this for a while, but we're µ's forever! (cheers and a huge applause, everybody is in tears). I cannot make any promises, but I – no, we definitely want to meet everyone again. I'm sure all eighteen of us feel the same way. Please take what we are saying to heart. Until the day we meet again, faito da yo!”

Last song: Moment ring: This song is too difficult to describe. Take a look at the wiki page here. It describe µ's story, dances and characters in a song. Definitely one of my favourites.

W- encore: the cheering is even louder

A short recap of all µ's live is shown as the lotus flower makes its appearance in the stage followed by a huge applause. The anime girls counting is shown and the audience shouts ten!

Bokutachi wa hitotsu no hikari: Beautiful costumes, their voices are really filled with emotions, and the audience is doing her part to support the girls. The song is a masterpiece. As they all look in the center for the last chorus, all of them starts crying. Beautiful also the costume that changes in the middle of the song. (really the biggest applause at the end, as everybody is touched, the audience starts singing again very loudly)
Emitsun assembles µ's in the center, as they hug up: “Thank you guys so much!” (Rippi) “we've been through a lot but thanks to everyone it was so fun!”

The wiki states: “After the final performance of Bokutachi wa Hitotsu no Hikari on Day 2, all nine members huddled together in the center. Emi Nitta has stated that what the nine of them said within that circle will remain a secret.”

The girls descends from the lotus flower and go on the elevating platform, as the audience is again singing with really loud voice, followed by the girls.

Emitsun: “Having met everyone, having met Love Live, having met all the members, these were truly my happiest six years! µ'sic forever! Please continue to take care of us! Thank you all so much!” (biggest cheer in history and applause, as the audience starts singing again).

As the girls leave the stage, the applause and chanting continues. While this was happening, the wiki states “After the members went backstage for the last time, the audience began chanting "µ's" repeatedly, to which the members just hugged together backstage and listened quietly while crying.”

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS LIVE: Ah, I'm speechless. Perfection in a live. That's what I thought seeing this. I want to skip the part of the songs, that i've reviewed so many times. Lots of songs were made in other lives. I will stop on the two songs that made this live epic: Moment ring: This song went straight into my mind. The lyrics always leave me thinking at how much μ’s have grown and how much they are appreciated now. The “idea” to put the most famous dance moves inside the choreography is genius. This is the song that, in my opinion, defines μ’s the most. Together with the other song I'm about to talk: BokuHika. Funny how when the girls are singing “the tears are unneeded” they are crying their hearts out. A song with the names of the members inside. A song that is introduced by “ah, it began with a subtle premonition” and finishes with “ah, we made it here chasing the lights”. This song is amazing. My best congratulations to Hata Aki, for all the songs, and in particular for this one. A masterpiece. And my best congratulations to μ’s, for the interpretation, above any level. Now I want to take a look at the last MC. Rippi who thanks Rin (it makes me move when the girls talk to their characters like they are alive). Pile who remembers Aishiteru banzai! (another song I love and I will keep forever in my heart). Nanjolno who refers to herself as Ayase Eli and Nanjou Yoshino. Mimorin's eyes full of tears, the first time I've seen them in all the lives. Ucchi, who finally gets to speak for a bit. Though she gets emotional, she finally gets to say what she wants. Emitsun's emotions in her eyes. The audience singing the last song as they leave the stage, over and over. This is what I call passion. This is what I call love. This is what I call Love Live!

The live is finished, the tension is gone. You're thinking about your future now. The Dome is empty and the audience left. You are alone with the staff, who always supported you since the beginning. All the other girls left already, their faces were a mask of doubt and uncertainty. Your eyes are tearing up, but deep down in your soul, you know. Those fan will not forget you. μ’s will not be forgotten. Your voice will be heard by millions of people. You already know what you'll have to do. Keep your head up and gather all your courage. Now, you'll have to fly on your own. You take a last look at the empty Dome, your lips are sealed, but you're smiling now. You turn around, saying to yourself: “I'll be back!”

This is what I thought about this live, in my interpretation of Emi's thought before and after the live. This is totally a fanfiction.

See you next Wednesday, I'll be giving my LLR awards, Aqours edition!

Nugu Roundup #25 - Pretty Girls Ringing Danger - 200126

Hello and welcome to the latest Nugu Roundup!
What is this?: This is a weekly feature designed to highlight the unknown/underappreciated groups and soloists working hard in the Kpop world that often fall under the radar. Please share your own information, favorite performance videos, fanmeet stories, or anything else relevant below! Last week we took a look at the hip-hop girl group Rose Finger, this week we're going to check out a group that recently had their second comeback, let's get to know Dreamnote!
What is Nugu?: While in Korean it literally means 'Who' in the broader Kpop context it refers to groups that are generally unknown amongst the greater public. It doesn't have to mean they're extremely new, though it can, and there are of course varying degrees of 'unknown' which some groups having very strong niche fandoms and others being almost invisible. I take a fairly broad view and will include groups that may be known to some, but who don't have widespread name recognition.
And now, on to the show....
Dreamnote
Who are they?: Dreamnote is a six member girl group under iMe Korea. While they originally were slated to be nine members, pre-debut member Jinsol left before debut, members Habin and Hanbyeol left in late 2019 due to a chronic ankle injury and being disillusioned with the entertainment industry respectively.
Company: iMe Korea, which stands for Idea Music Entertainment, is the Korean music label branch of the IME Group of Companies. iMe Korea also represents soloists Wax and MIIII, soloist and actor Kim Hyun Sung, and R&B duo Fly to the Sky. They are also involved in concert and event promotion outside of Korea and have promoted/produced/co-produced concerts and events in SE Asia and Australia for big name artists such as BTS, Big Bang, Ailee, Blackpink, and Ariana Grande.
Members
Debut: November 7th, 2018 with Dreamnote (MV) Live Stage (Link). Their debut song is an energetic 'cute crush' number written by the same team responsible for Twice's Yes or Yes.
Most Recent Comeback: January 8th, 2020 with Wish (MV) Live Stage (Link). An evolution of their style, still solidly in the more cute/innocent zone but trading some of the aegyo for a more elegant presentation. This one was writted by VINCENZO, Any Masingga, and Anna Timgren, the team responsible for a number of hits for Chungha, BVNDIT, GFriend, WJSN, and Lovelyz.
Other MVs and Live Stages:
YouTube Channel: Dreamnote Official
Random Stuff
Trivia: Dreamnote took part in busking events, 'School Attack' performances at various middle schools, and appeared on variety programs such as 'Return of Superman' before their debut. Dreamnote is atypical in that only one member is from the greater Seoul area. They have performed abroad in Thailand, Taiwan, Malaysia, and Japan, bolstered by their company iMe's presence in the international event planning sector. The group has said that they want to present a bubbly and energetic image to the public similar to Twice.

Soloist of the Week
MRSHLL
Who is he?: A male soloist under FeelGhood Music, he was the first openly gay male Kpop idol.
Company: FeelGhood Music is the same label that represents popular up-and-coming soloist BIBI as well as KHip-Hop groups MFBTY and Drunken Tiger.
Real Name: Marshall Bang
Releases
Media
Trivia: MRSHLL was born in Orange County, CA. He discovered his love for performing after joining his school's show choir. Despite growing up in a Korean-American household he wasn't very familiar with Korea until he moved to the country. Some of his favorite artists growing up were Mariah Carey, Destiny's Child, Spice Girls, and Aaliyah. He has a new single album called 'Mirage' coming out on the 30th of January, 2020.

Quick Take
LST
Who are they?: A seven member boy group under the Hyunda Company. Their name stands for "Let's Show Time".
Debut: I Wanna Go (music link) Live Stage (Link) Choreography Video (Link)
Most Recent Release: The Wolf (music link) Live Performance (Link) Arirang Off-Stage Sance (Link) Live Performance with poor audio quality but better camera work (also includes BTS Boy With Luv Cover) (Link)
Pops in Seoul Self Interview: Link

In Memorium
HEXE
Who were they?: A five member girl group under Serenity Music.
Releases
Active Between: October 15th, 2015 - Sometime in 2016
Reason for Disbanding: It seems their company really had no money given the lack of promotion and production value on their MVs. Leader of the group Soyeah also held the title of 'Producer' so it's possible the group was self-produced.
Trivia: Member of the group Jin has previously been a member of A-Girls and GI as Heeso, and after Hexe became the leader of Various before they disbanded as well. Leader and producer of the group Soyeah is now apparently a soloist and has some catchy tunes. Her most recent release is Night Night (MV) which has a fun jazzy soft latin feel, she also released the cute pop-ballad Cotton Candy (MV) last year, and the soaring ballad To My Star (MV) back in 2017. She also looks sort of like Crayon Pop's Way, which is nice.
___________________________________________________
That's it for today, let's get the discussion on!
As always, if you have any suggestions for groups, content, or things you'd like to see, please let me know in the comments below.
Also as always, a big shout-out to u/not-named-in-credits for his amazing work with nugutown.

Tourist Information

Glasgow has a tourist information office within the Gallery of Modern Art. There are also computers for use in the gallery, and in any of the city's libraries.
Glasgow provides free WiFi on the major City Centre streets. It's not the fastest, but it'll do for messaging or looking up maps.
The main Post Office in the city is located on West Nile Street, though there are plenty others dotted about the town.

The Subway covers the City Centre and West End. The trains are frequent and inexpensive. An all-day travel pass is available.
There are two major train stations within the City Centre (Glasgow Central and Queen Street) with frequent stops in the South Side, East and West Ends. There's an interactive map where you can view routes around Glasgow. Low level trains depart from these stations, these are not to be confused with the Subway.
Busses are a bit trickier to work out. Google maps provides excellent transport directions (for trains as well as busses), but the First Bus official website can be a pain to decipher.
Central Glasgow isn't huge, so taxis are fairly inexpensive. We've got Uber, Gett, and you can flag down any black cab on the street if it's got its light on. Glasgow Taxis is the biggest taxi company and if you want to book the the old fashioned way, you can call them on 0141 429 7070.
Glasgow has a few good cycle routes. For short journeys, NextBike has you covered. There are bike rental stations dotted around the city and they're great value for money. For longer journeys, and to make the most of our National Cycle Routes, consider hiring a more suitable bike. Some suggested shops are listed here.

[Anime Spoilers] Anime rewatch observations after becoming much more familiar with the franchise

Warning! The following contains spoilers for all four seasons of the anime (both SIP and Sunshine!!).
[Preface; skip this paragraph if you don't like reading and/or just want my observations] Like for many, the anime was my first experience with the Love Live franchise, so I initially went into it with zero knowledge about any of its other aspects, such as the music and the live performances. After finishing both the School Idol Project and Sunshine!! anime (plus the movie) in July, I discovered SIF, which launched me into a whole new world I didn't know existed. It introduced me to the music that wasn't part of the anime, and, over time, I began to learn more and more about the franchise as a whole. Fast-forward to six or seven weeks ago, when I decided to watch all four seasons and the movie again, equipped with my new understanding of the franchise. As I watched, I began noticing things that I never noticed the first time, thanks to both my familiarity with the songs and my foreknowledge of the anime's events. At some point, I began writing them down as I noticed them, so, several weeks later, I've finally decided to compile my observations and share them with you all (otherwise, what the hell did I go to the trouble of writing them down for?). Keep in mind, I'm almost certainly not the first person to notice or bring to light any of these observations (hell, I'm pretty sure some of them are even on the Love Live wiki), and some of them may seem extremely obvious and not worth noting, but I still thought people would find them interesting to read about here. If you'd prefer to watch the anime again yourself and see what you notice, I'd suggest coming back to this post later so I don't ruin the feeling of discovery for you.

I've organized this post chronologically and by series, with a header before each observation so that you can navigate the post or just pick and choose what you want to read about. [Note: Episode titles are the ones used by Crunchyroll.]
Love Live! School Idol Project
Love Novels: The first thing I noticed was that in Season 1, Episode 6 ("Who is the Center?"), when the girls are in the karaoke room, an off-vocal version of "Love Novels", the coupling song for BiBi's first single, is playing lightly in the background. I'm not sure if there's any symbolic significance to this; I think it's probably just an Easter egg.
Eli's Recruitment: This next observation I actually just made a couple days ago and jotted it down to be added to this post. I was watching the "Bokura no LIVE Kimi to no LIFE" PV in its entirety for the first time, when I noticed that the scene where Honoka and the rest of the group recruit Eli seemed awfully familiar. Sure enough, when I went back to Season 1, Episode 8 ("What I Want to Do"), the episode of the anime where Eli and Nozomi join μ's, I saw that Eli's recruitment scene in the anime very closely mirrors the same scene in the PV. Here are two screenshots that I think really exemplify the attention to detail in the reproduction: BoRaRa PV | SIP Anime.
Instrumental OP: Season 1, Episode 13 ("μ's Music Start!") starts out with a rather long pre-OP segment. This section of the episode is underscored by a slow, sad-sounding instrumental version of "Bokura wa Ima no Naka de", the first season's opening theme. I actually really like this piano and strings arrangement, and it feels really fitting for the current state of affairs at that point in the anime. Despite having heard the actual song multiple times the first time I watched the anime, I still didn't notice this version of it until the second time through, when I was more familiar with the song and could pick it out of the background.
Yume no Tobira: Season 2, Episode 2 ("Aiming for Victory") and Episode 3 ("Door of Dreams") are chock-full of references to the subunits, which don't exist anywhere else in the anime. Episode 2 sees the girls through the process of writing the song that is revealed in Episode 3 to be "Yume no Tobira". Now, I actually went into my rewatch already knowing the fact that, in Episode 2, the three groups they split into to write the song are the three subunits, thanks to having read about the subunits on the wiki. However, there were a couple things I noticed on top of this. For one, and this may or may not have been intentional, but the flowers that Hanayo finds while brainstorming ideas for the song's costume seem to have been sort of incorporated into the final costume. They're definitely not the same flowers, but the white flowers that the costume does feature could have been inspired by the ones Hanayo found. The main thing I noticed in Episode 3 is the fact that "Yume no Tobira", the song that they composed while split into the subunits, has its verse divided up by subunit (lily white starts out the verse, then BiBi, then Printemps). The choreography has them grouped by subunit for pretty much the entire song. What's more, the leaders of each subunit (Honoka, Umi, and Eli) sing the song's intro.
Literal Snow Halation: This is the thing that made me want to start taking notes and write this post in the first place. At the end of Season 2, Episode 8 ("My Wish" -- it's worth noting too that the Japanese title of the episode is "Watashi no Nozomi", fitting for an episode where Nozomi is the primary focus), the girls are called to Nozomi's house to write a love song for the Love Live final preliminaries, the song being, of course, the legendary "Snow halation". The episode ends right before they actually start writing it, with the girls all standing outside, each saying a word as a snowflake falls into their hands. The final snowflake, the one Nozomi catches, is the biggest of all, and it actually has a little halation (Google: the spreading of light beyond its proper boundaries to form a fog around the edges of a bright image in a photograph or on a television screen) around it. It's a literal snow halation. I'm not sure if this was intentional or not, but I still think it's pretty cool.
Instrumental ED: Similarly to how Season 1's opening theme was given a slow, sad instrumental version, in Season 2, Episode 11 ("Our Decision"), there's a sentimental-sounding orchestral arrangement of "Donna Toki mo Zutto", the ending theme for Season 2. It underscores a montage of each girl contemplating the issue of what to do after graduation.
Yuujou No Change: Rounding off the SIP observations, in the same episode, the song that plays during the montage of the girls doing the things everyone wants to do around the city is an instrumental version of "Yuujou No Change", the coupling song for the first single ever released for the Love Live franchise. The melody is played by a synth, so it's not quite the same as the off-vocal version of the song.

Love Live! Sunshine!!
Umi ni Kaeru Mono: "Umi ni Kaeru Mono" (lit. "Those Who Return to the Sea"), the song Riko plays at the end of Season 1, Episode 10 ("We've Got Stewshine!"), is simply a piano arrangement of "Omoi yo Hitotsu ni Nare", the insert song in the next episode.
Kimi no Kokoro wa Kagayaiteru Kai?: Yes, just like "Bokura no LIVE Kimi to no LIFE" and "Snow halation" before it, Aqours's first single, "Kimi no Kokoro wa Kagayaiteru Kai?" became an insert song in the anime, in Season 2. However, I already knew that going into my rewatch, so that's not what this observation is about. At the very end of Season 1, Episode 13 ("Sunshine!!"), the last line of the season is Chika saying "Kimi no kokoro wa..." and everyone joining in with "kagayaiteru kai?" (Bonus: Something I found out later is that the pose the girls are in when they say this final line is a reproduction of the first teaser image for Love Live! Sunshine!!)
MY Mai☆TONIGHT: In Season 2, Episode 2 ("The Sound of Rain"), Aqours splits into two songwriting teams: the second years work on writing what would become "Kimi no Kokoro wa Kagayaiteru Kai?", and the first and third years work on what would become "MY Mai☆TONIGHT". When the latter group is trapped inside a Buddhist temple due to rain and the roof starts leaking, they place various dishes underneath all the leaks to catch the water. The drips slowly begin to sound out a melody that gives the group the inspiration they were looking for. This is, of course, the main melody of "MY Mai☆TONIGHT"; the "drips" are played by a glockenspiel, which is joined by some more orchestral instruments that later develop into a short instrumental version of the song. Yes, that's right, a leaky roof composed an Aqours song (it must have some background in music theory, too, since it carefully adheres to a minor pentatonic scale).
Kiseki Hikaru: Whoo boy. This one spans all of Season 2. I was already familiar with the song "Kiseki Hikaru" before my rewatch, so I quickly began to notice that parts of it are littered throughout the soundtrack for Season 2. I wrote down every last instance of it that I noticed, thinking how cool it was that they wove this one Aqours song into nearly every episode. After the fact, I learned that "Kiseki Hikaru" was actually a bonus song included in the last BD release for Season 2, meaning it was released long after the second season aired. This means that, rather than the song being incorporated into Season 2's soundtrack, elements of Season 2's soundtrack were incorporated into the song, which I think is even cooler. I'm a sucker for musical motifs (musical elements that show up multiple times throughout a larger work such as a game or anime). As far as I've noticed, Sunshine!! Season 2 is the only season of Love Live! that uses motifs so prominently, so I think it's great that they basically took the main motif of the soundtrack and turned it into a full song for Aqours to sing. I may have missed some, but here are all the instances of the "Kiseki Hikaru" motif that I noticed throughout my rewatch:
-Episode 1 ("Next Step"): once at the beginning of the episode during the assembly, and once at the end of the episode before the ending theme
-Episode 3 ("Rainbow"): during the end credits before "Kimi no Kokoro wa Kagayaiteru Kai?"
-Episode 4 ("Don't Be So Formal with Me"): once when Dia first talks to Mari and Kanan about how close they've gotten with the first and second years, and once at the flea market, particularly when Chika shows up in the mikan costume
-Episode 7 ("The Time Left"): at the end of the episode in the scene before the ending theme
-Episode 9 ("Awaken the power"): right after the opening theme
-Episode 10 ("Finding a Way to Shine"): once during the third years' talk in the tunnel, and once during the drive in Mari's magical flying hippie van and when they reach the lookout
-Episode 11 ("Uranohoshi Girls' High School"): right after the mid-episode break
-Episode 12 ("Sea of Light"): once during the pillow fight, once starting with Mari's answer to Chika's question, and once during the ending credits before "WATER BLUE NEW WORLD".
-Episode 13 ("Our Own Shine"): once during the scene where everyone paints on the school's walls, once during the last moments in the club room, and finally when Chika is chasing the paper airplane towards the end of the episode

That's all I've got! Please feel free to comment on my observations, bring up any of your own that I may have missed, or just share your memorable experiences noticing little details in this series. Was the list surprising to you, or did you already know everything I mentioned? I find this kind of thing really interesting, so it'd be great if you could point out some new details that I'd never noticed before (plus, I didn't write anything down when I rewatched the movie, so anything from that would be awesome). If you read the whole thing, thank you very much!
